Who are the Nightstalkers?

Everyone seems to ask about the Nightstalkers.  Who we are, how someone can join, etc.  So, we hope to take care of some of those questions here.

The Nightstalkers began mainly out of a desire simply to have a good Counter-Strike server where we felt as though anyone could play Counter Strike, a game we all love and not have to deal with a lot of the things that we don't like (i.e. swearing, pornographic sprays, etc).  So that's what we did.

The Nightstalkers CS server has 4 simple rules:

1. No foul language. This includes profanity, language of a sexual nature or racial slurs.
2. No inappropriate names. See Rule #1
3. No cheating.
4. Obey the admins! If one asks you to do or not do something...listen.

I suppose that we really aren't much of a clan...

Basically, we simply play together because we enjoy playing together.  We don't play clan matches or make a big deal about being "good enough" to be in -=[NS]=-.  To signify who are admins on the server.  We do have a lot of fun though.

The charter members of -=[NS]=- were NSDQ, Number6, google, and Elihu.  We all work together, so it made it very convenient for all of us to be able to play on and administer the server.  If there is a leader of -=[NS]=- it's probably NSDQ because he's the boss of the company :).

(If you've put pieces of the puzzle together you remember NSDQ is the acronym for the Night Stalkers motto, "Night Stalkers Don't Quit".  We got the idea to call ourselves the Nightstalkers from NSDQ who was once a member of Task Force 160)

We soon added three other members to -=[NS]=- in Angelos, TheSainT and eAsY_tArGeT and Train.  Two joined when they came to work with us, one is the son of a charter -=[NS]=- member, and the last is a friend of ours.

Recently we've added two more admins in Hugh-Jorgan and aRagoRn.  We had all played with these two gentleman for quite awhile and appreciated not only their playing ability but also their respect for our server and it's rules.  Because of that, we invited them to join us as admins.

We receive a lot of questions asking why we have the rules the way we do...

It comes as a shock for many to discover that while this server is located at an ISP, it is also on the campus of a Christian college.  It is true that at least eight of the ten members who wear the -=[NS]=- tag are professing Christians. In fact, many members are in college preparing to enter the ministry.  That's not what most people would expect and definitely not exactly what most people consider "normal"

Is a Christian Counter Strike server an oxymoron?

The quick answer to this question is no...however most people that ask this question desire much more than just a quick answer.  However, I don't want to go into a long dissertation here like I know that I would.  But...If you do have a question regarding this issue...please feel free to email me with it.  By no means do I have all the answers...but I will try my best to answer any question you might have.
